My “why” for doing this blog is to glorify Jesus Christ and to bless his people. Outside of this blog, a few of the ways I try to do this in my life is by:
1. Staying in the Bible which lets me discover what God wants to teach me and how he wants it applied to my life.
2. Teach and encourage others by pointing them to the scriptures for their answers.
3. Help others discover how to apply what they have learned to their life.
4. Encourage others to take Biblical knowledge and in turn, bless the next person.
The above is called discipleship and it is an area of Christianity that gets my blood flowing. Everyone’s life has unique struggles they must learn to deal with in a godly way. They need answers and the only way to break those chains is to focus on God.
I have this craving in my soul to pour into others, to serve them a cup of God’s encouragement no matter where they are in their walk. But for me, it’s not enough to just share encouragement. I long to share where my encouragement comes from and to show others how they can find the same for themselves. That is my desire for this blog. I pray you find posts that bless you with encouragement and truth. I pray they help you keep your focus on Jesus.
Our Guidance Comes From Scripture Not Man
For me, the following scriptures are a few of many that sum up how God wants discipleship to look like in my life.
“Rejoice with those that rejoice, weep with those that weep. Have the same respect one for another, not minding high things, but going along with the lowly: be not wise in your own eyes: recompensing to no one evil for evil: providing things honest before all men: if possible, as far as depends on you, living in peace with all men.” (Romans 12:15-18 DARBY)
“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom every family in the heavens and on earth is named, in order that he may give you according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power by his Spirit in the inner man; that the Christ may dwell, through faith, in your hearts, being rooted and founded in love, in order that ye may be fully able to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height; and to know the love of the Christ which surpasses knowledge; that ye may be filled even to all the fulness of God. (Ephesians 3:14-19 DARBY)
